Example One:
I found students in elementary school seem to like more hands on crafts, games, activities relating to religion to fully engage themselves in the topics. I have curated a board on Pinterest that gives different activities, games and crafts that could be used in the classroom relating to different lessons. They can be done independently such as making their own rosary/rosary book or they can be done as a class such as making a lent chain or playing the 7 sacraments bingo to get students to have fun and get fully hands on with the religious topics.
Example Two:
For older students we need to get them involved in prayer. Some students don't seem to understand that a prayer doesn't always have to be the Our Father, Hail Mary or Apostles Creed. Every day students can be given a task of finding a prayer that is meaningful for them. I found giving students the criteria of looking at different prayers, poems, or songs that can be used to in the classroom to show their understanding of different forms of prayer. I would give an example of each before they begin and then give them the opportunity to explore their own. They must then give a write up of what it means for them. This helps students to pay attention to one another as they listen to the different artifacts that are being presented and reflecting on them as a class. This also helps students get engaged with looking at religion using a 21st century module to present.

Example Poem:
Something Wonderful
Be happy,
Be cheerful,
Be joyful,
Be ecstatic,
God has something wonderful for you
Be cheerful,
Be joyful,
Be ecstatic,
God has something wonderful for you
